French Teacher 

The Upper School French teacher is responsible for promoting a love of French as a language, both spoken and written, with an emphasis in the great tradition of les lettres humaines.

Skills and Competencies:

• Institutional Character Traits: We are distinguished by our mix of professionalism, seriousness, and joy. We strive to foster independence, responsibility, and joy for our students.
• Role-Specific Competencies: Socratic questioning and formative assessment; ability to model pronunciation and grammar, a desire to promote student literacy in complex French texts, ability to use French beyond the ordinary tourist exposure to the language; a spirit of intellectual curiosity; care and attention to the interests of adolescent students; organization of complex classroom systems and protocols; and effective communication with parents.
• Required Knowledge: Native or almost native fluency in French; ability to read and explain complex texts in French

Salary Range:

$45,000-$60,000

Department: Upper School - Classics

Direct Report: Assistant Principal

Supplementary Benefits:
