Upper School Science Teacher
Purpose:
The Upper School science teacher is responsible for promoting a love of nature and developing the mental habits and virtues inherent in the scientific method. Classes track the 7 and 8 Grade FOSS science curriculum, which includes topics ranging from earth history and chemical reactions to heredity and planetary science.

- Role-Specific Competencies: Meticulous care with lab notebooks; Socratic questioning and formative assessment; commitment to the humility necessary for careful scientific analysis; a spirit of intellectual curiosity; care and attention to the interests of adolescent students; organization of complex classroom systems and protocols; and effective communication with parents.
- Required Knowledge: Some specialty or expertise in biology, chemistry, physics, or another scientific field.

$45,000-$60,000
