With more than 20 years of experience in the field of communications and journalism, I have developed strong skills in writing, photography and design that focuses on clarity and accessibility. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals, large corporations and small businesses and nonprofits, as well as volunteered my time and skills with schools and nonprofits. I am an Animator (2D traditional and digital, 3D), Ilustrator and Art Director with 30 years of experience in most areas of Art production and publishing, including almost 20 years in the 2nd biggest broadcaster in the world (but 1st in production volume).  I was born in a catholic family and I was educated in catholic schools. I am married and father of a 23yo daughter. I'm looking for job opportunities that align with my beliefs in The Lord, Jesus Christ and His Church. Most of the job openings in my area are secular, to say the least, and I believe that producing Art that shows the beauty of our faith is the best way to be an artist and the best strategy to spread the Gospel among the young, which are also the most targeted by secular and worse kind of entertainment.

Nice to meet you! I’m Ysabel, but you can call me Ysa — I’m a graphic designer based in Northern Kentucky. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus in Visual Communication Design and minors in Organizational Leadership and Marketing from Northern Kentucky University in 2023 (Go Norse!). Although I’ve graduated, I still see myself as an art student—passionate to continue fueling my artistic experiences through learning and creating rich, meaningful designs. I’m especially excited to integrate my two passions: the Catholic faith and graphic design, weaving such an integral part of my life with creativity to produce work that inspires and resonates on a deeper level.

I am a Peruvian illustrator with an MDes in Comics from the University of Dundee and an MFA in Illustration from SCAD. My art is a prayer in color: joyful, vibrant, and rooted in the stories of my homeland. I seek to reflect the beauty of God through my work, drawing on the richness of Peruvian culture and the quiet presence of my Catholic faith. Now living in the USA, I work as a freelance illustrator, creating images that speak to the soul.

My most recent position was Brand Coordinator at CASTUS. My responsibilities varied from creating social media content to researching new avenues for communication. I supported the Director of Brand & Marketing to generate engaging material that represents our brand and mission. I worked with clients designing brand materials, planning events, developing their marketing strategies, and reviewing the results of their social and email campaigns. While at CASTUS, I had the pleasure of planning and running the CASTUS Fellowship for Minority Business Owners. This program is an opportunity for minority business owners in the Pittsburgh Area to network, build relationships, and gain monetary resources. I am a graduate of Grove City College with degrees in Communication Studies and Entrepreneurship. At the college, I was a Teaching Assistant for the Communication and Entrepreneurship departments and an Event Assistant.  I participated on campus in many ways including: Athletic Director, Social Chair, and President for The Alpha Beta Tau Sorority, an Executive Chair for Grove City College’s Orientation Board, radio show host for 91.1 The One, running the Priest, Prophet, & Queen podcast, and The Praxis Academy.  In the summer of 2019, I interned for a month in Italy working for the Archaeological Conservation Institute. There I gained experience in intercultural communication and museum studies. I worked on ancient excavation sites, as well as precision lab work and register organization. That summer I learned the importance of appreciation for and the preservation of Cultural Heritage.  I love creating Cultural Heritage myself by writing. I am a published author in "The Pittsburgh Catholic" as well as several other publications.
