Head of Academics & Culture
Location: Tampa, FL | Salary: $100,000
St. Thomas Aquinas Academy is a new independent Catholic school in South Tampa, Florida. Aquinas joins hundreds of Catholic schools across the nation as part of the growing renaissance of Catholic classical education.
St. Thomas Aquinas Academy (STA) is searching for a passionate, hardworking, mission- aligned individual to serve as Head of Academics & Culture. The ideal Head of Academics is an excellent leader and communicator, & possesses a deep knowledge of classical education and pedagogy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mission & Culture: Model and foster STA’s Catholic classical identity; ensure all school life and activities reflect the mission and vision.
- Faculty Leadership: Recruit, hire, evaluate, and coach teachers; provide accountability, support, and professional development.
- Curriculum & Instruction: Oversee curriculum design and standards; ensure quality and consistency of instruction; manage testing and accreditation processes.
- Student Success: Monitor academic progress, address challenges, and partner with parents and students to support achievement and formation.
- Community Engagement: Represent the school at events; collaborate with faculty, staff, parents, and stakeholders.
- Additional Duties: Teach a middle school subject if needed; assist with admissions and student discipline; organize curriculum resources and schedules.
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership, humility, moral character, and love of learning.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s/PhD preferred.
- Significant teaching experience, ideally within classical education.
- Prior school leadership or administrative experience.
