Headmaster

We are seeking a Principal beginning the 2026 academic year. Our school provides a Catholic classical liberal arts education for Montessori primary classroom through 8th grade. 

We are a parish apostolate faithful to the Church's mission of spreading the gospel, living a sacramental life and seeking the Truth, Goodness and Beauty that is woven by the Creator into His creation. The school prepares students to pursue excellence in all things by instructing them using a classical model from their earliest years.

Location: Spokane, WA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the school’s spiritual, academic, and operational leader, ensuring that all school activities reflect the mission.
  • Advance the ministry of the school as part of the mission of evangelization of the parish under the guidance of the pastor.
  • Lead, support, and mentor the faculty in order to strengthen, inspire, and engage them in best practices and authentic classical pedagogy.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills to our faculty, staff, students, families, and supporters.
  • Forge creative ideas and ways to promote and inspire community participation and involvement.
  • Possess development and marketing skills to help maintain a healthy school enrollment.
  • Understand school finances and the budgeting process.
  • Initiate and foster engaging relationships with donors and supporters of the school.
  • Be a visible presence during the school day and at school-sponsored functions.
  • Engage the school community in the life of the parish.
  • Promote extra-curricular activities, such as sports, clubs, drama, and academics that enrich a student's educational experience.
  • Promote and foster a welcoming, faith filled, supportive, and joyous school environment that cultivates volunteer participation.
  • Curriculum map and development.

Essential Characteristics:

  • Ability to lead, mentor and professionally develop faculty.
  • Operational experience in school planning, management and administration.
  • Model a life of faith is committed to following Christ in thought, word and deed.
  • Display a model of servant-leadership that is joyful, generous and humble.
  • Commitment to the Magisterial teachings and authentic Catholic discipleship.
  • Strive for virtuous behavior in all undertakings, especially faith, hope and love.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant bachelor's degree; a graduate degree is preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in a Catholic liberal arts school is preferred, or demonstrated knowledge of its principles and pedagogy.
  • Five years of leadership is preferred.
  • Current Washington State Administrative Certification (or equivalent), or be in the process of obtaining these credentials.

Salary: $100,000-$135,000
