POSITION SUMMARY
The Coordinator of Missionary Outreach supports the Director of Missionary Outreach with administrative, logistical, and pastoral tasks related to Works of Mercy, Missions of Peace, and SENT retreat ministry; these programs involve over 500 University students and serve thousands of people each year. Through this work the Coordinator advances Franciscan University’s institutional-wide efforts to promote a culture where students, staff, and faculty discern and live out their personal vocations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist the Director of Missionary Outreach with administrative and logistical tasks related to Works of Mercy, Missions of Peace, and SENT retreat ministry.
2. Coordinate the implementation of learning goals for the department and assist with the development and delivery of formation materials, meetings, and other events for Missionary Outreach student leaders, advisors, chaplains, and student missionaries.
3. Provide mentorship to student leaders.
4. Serve as an advisor for a spring break and/or summer mission trip.
5. Assist with post-mission debriefs and preparation for next year’s missions.
6. Collaborates with other Personal Vocation Staff, pastoral staff and other departments to support and advance the mission and goals of Missionary Outreach, the Office for Personal Vocation, and the University.

REQUIREMENTS
Must understand, support, and embrace the mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville and possess the following:
Technical Skills
· Proficiency in Office 365 applications, especially Outlook Excel, Word, Teams, and Forms.
· Experience working with social media and graphic design preferred.

Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry, Catechetics, Theology, Education, Business or a related field.
· Experience with Catholic missionary, service, and/or outreach work.
· Youth Ministry Certification preferred.
Certifications & Licenses
· Successful BCI & FBI background check
Workplace Factors
· Evenings and weekends are sometimes required.
· Must be able to travel and participate in an international mission trip.
