Position Title: Advancement & Events Manager

Location: Hempstead, NY

Reports to: Executive Director of Advancement

 

Job Summary: The Advancement & Events Manager is responsible for helping develop and execute comprehensive fundraising and advancement strategies that support the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability. This position plays a critical role in donor cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation, while also helping manage the planning and execution of special events designed to strengthen engagement with donors, alumnae, families, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities:

● Support all annual fund campaigns, capital campaigns, and grant submissions.

● Help with donor cultivation and stewardship efforts: assist in the preparation of mailing lists, donor segments, and donor communications.

● Assist with donor database upkeep. Accurately enter donations, pledges, constituent updates, and event attendance into the donor database (e.g., Raisers Edge, GiveCampus).

● Conduct basic prospect research to support fundraising and stewardship efforts.

● Assist in the planning and coordination of events (e.g., donor receptions, gala dinner, cultivation events, reunions and golf outing): vendor contracts, venue logistics, guest lists/RSVPs, event budget tracking, on-site support.

● Work with cross-department teams (marketing, communications, admissions) to ensure fundraising and events align with institutional goals and donor experience.

● Post-event follow-up: capture event data (attendance, revenue, donor conversions), manage thank-you communications, track sponsorship and gift fulfillment.

● Provide general development operations support: help prepare reports/memos for leadership, maintain calendar of development activities, assist with grant or special campaign support as needed.

 

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in Fundraising, Event Management, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.

● 3+ years of relevant experience in fundraising, event coordination, or nonprofit development.

● Strong organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail.

● Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

● Commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education.

● Proficiency with event software, donor databases, and office productivity tools.

● Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

 

Salary: $75,000-$85,000 based on experience.
